The Enterprises & Events subcommittee was created to ensure that there is awareness, review and mindfulness of these opportunities from a diversity perspective. For example: • Are events reflective of employees and our customer base? • Is there equitable support of diverse organizations? • Do the initiatives align with our mission to foster a culture of inclusion and build communities? In our first year, the subcommittee served as a sounding board for various events, both internal and external, to ensure a balance of representation. These included, but were not limited to : • Essence Festival • Alabama Power New Employee Forum • Congressional Black Caucus • Alabama Power Fall Safety Planning Meeting 2018 Focus Title sponsor to Momentum, a prominent women's leadership organization in Alabama and its newest initiative for early- career females. Proud supporter in the launch of the Leadership and Professional Development Institute of the American Association of Blacks in Energy (AABE).
