73 Just like in athletics, talent identification begins at an early age. Alabama Power has long-standing co-op and internship programs designed to give hands-on experience to talented undergraduates. We engage students through programs like INROADS, as well as on-campus networking through student chapters of organizations: Undergraduate Student Programs Society of Women Engineers (SWE). Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA). Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). 232 current Alabama Power employees were formerly student employees. TOTAL CO-OPS AND INTERNS IN THE PAST 20 YEARS: 1,407 Inspiring the next generation Alabama Power co-ops participate in a service project.
