16 In 2018, the subcommittee familiarized ourselves with the curriculum and program structure of existing developmental programs within the company. 2018 Focus Our vision is to broaden the definition of employee development and, specifically, identify opportunities — internal and external to Alabama Power — to include more involvement by the evolving workforce. Internal programming under development: Designed to strengthen business acumen, improve performance and help participants build relationships across business units. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Mid-level managers gain a deeper understanding of business challenges from company leadership. EXPERIENCED LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM Created to provide guidance and collaborate with Human Resources in supporting Alabama Power's development programs. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT COUNCIL This week-long training equips new leaders with awareness of company functions, policies and guidance of procedures. NEW SUPERVISOR PROGRAM 2019 - Looking Forward This program brings rising female leaders together to increase visibility to other female leaders with a focus on the engagement, retention and growth into mid-manager roles. TRANSFORMING SUCCESS For 2018-2019, 75% of program participants come from underrepresented groups. CCI Lunch & Learn, a quarterly series open to all employees for business updates and topics of interest. The CCI's Education Week, a week-long series of skill-building workshops, business updates, benefit guidance and health awareness open to all employees.
