24 In our first year, areas of focus emerged, subcommittees were convened and work in those areas pursued. We brought employees together to share thoughts and recommendations. We asked, and we listened. Millennial Outreach Millennials will make up 35% of our customer base by 2020. The CCI will sponsor millennial-focused events to foster inclusion within our company, our communities and our customers. Mentorship So much of a company's success depends on the connection forged between employees. A mentorship framework will be designed to help leaders positively affect inclusion, engagement and professional development. Officer Engagement The CCI will continue to provide opportunities for employees to connect with company officers through informal events and employee programs. These initiatives will be designed to encourage interaction and open dialogue. Leadership Involvement A thriving culture requires a collective investment from all of us. In 2019, the CCI will begin its expansion into the next level of leadership and in the future, all levels of employees. Communication Strategy It's important employees know where we've been, where we are and where we are committed to going. Consistent communication will be provided to employees on CCI initiatives, activities and events to increase awareness and encourage participation. Our 2019 Initiatives: As we look to our path forward, the CCI is committed to a strategy that celebrates the diversity of Alabama Power's employees and the distinct value they bring, provides opportunity for employee connection and contribution and responds to the evolving landscape of our company and communities.
