In a historic agreement that fur ther
demonstrates a mutual respect and desire
to strengthen long-standing relationships,
the company 's first six-year agreement
was recently craf ted and then ratified by
the International Brotherhood of Electrical
Workers with a 97% favorable vote.
The new agreement ex tends a relationship
that has long enabled the company and
IBE W to work together to provide safe,
reliable and af fordable electricit y to
Alabama Power customers.
At an Aug. 8 contract signing ceremony,
company and local IBE W leaders reflected
on the histor y of this labor-management
par tnership, deemed by national labor leaders
as the "gold standard " for the industr y.
