HISTORY The March 1940 issue of the monthly Powergrams featured a cover picture of the chimney at Gorgas Steam Plant No. 2, taken by L.M. Smith. The employees of the Engineering Department shown were Elizabeth Turner, Marjorie Birkins and Margaret Schroth. The editors during the 20th year of the employee magazine were R.H. Mangum and C.M. Killian. Killian was the longest- serving leader of Powergrams, retiring in 1962. 100 YEARS OF POWERGRAMS The March 1955 cover of Powergrams featured Ben and Gene Gunn with their 3-year-old daughter Donna Jean in their Sunday best looking at swans in Mirror Lake at Bellingrath Gardens. Ben was an apprentice lineman and Gene a stenographer in the Mobile District Office. 3
