2022 HIGHLIGHTS
NEW EMPLOYEE FORUM
In May, the New Employee Forum resumed, following a two-year
hiatus due to the pandemic. Hosted in Birmingham by the CCI, the
forum welcomed nearly 300 new Alabama Power and Alabama-based
Southern Company Services employees.
The forum kicked off with a networking
reception for the new employees and
leaders from throughout the company,
including then-CEO Mark Crosswhite
and current CEO Jeff Peoples, who
at the time was EVP of Customer and
Employee Services. Leadership shared
how Alabama Power is defined by its
commitments to safety, elevating
Alabama communities and ensuring all
employees are valued, respected and
treated fairly.
The forum highlighted student-of-
the-business information across
key areas of company operations,
as well as Alabama Power's support
for organizations such as Bronze
Valley and Alabama's historically
Black colleges and universities
(HBCUs). Breakout sessions focused
on employee benefits, career
development and innovation, as well
as the critical community roles played
by the Alabama Power Foundation
and the Alabama Power Service
Organization (APSO).
