HBCU ENGAGEMENT
Alabama is home to the largest number of historically
Black colleges and universities (HBCUs) in the U.S.
Boasting strong programs in business, engineering,
science and other disciplines, Alabama HBCUs
produce top talent, and Alabama Power is commied
to supporting them, collaborating on programs and
initiatives, and helping create career opportunities.
Our HBCU engagement strategy is a cross-functional
initiative with focus areas including:
EMPLOY
Intentional recruitment, including providing internships,
co-ops and technical training programs.
ENGAGE
Strengthening relationships with HBCU leadership,
faculty and alumni.
ELEVATE
Strategic giving, providing scholarships, partnerships in
workforce development and innovative resources like the
Propel Center and endowments.
