Several factors can play a role
in determining when power is
restored, some beyond the control
of Alabama Power. For example,
if a thunderstorm blows a tree on
lines and power is disconnected,
and another storm is right behind
it, line crews will have to wait until
the storm subsides. Sometimes,
more than one circuit needs repair.
Or a substation, which controls
power for an entire neighborhood
may be damaged, and require
extensive repairs.
