Thumbs Up! The West Jefferson Office held an hour- long "Street Performance" on the sales floor to benefit Junior Achievement. Kayshia Featherstone, Charles Turner and Kenneth Johnson sang everything from '60s rock to gospel tunes. Johnson accompanied the trio on the keyboards. The office raised more than $160 through the event. Tyler Crowson, Clanton crew Headquarters, coaches a youth baseball team, the Dizzy Dean Clanton 12 and Under All-stars. His team won the state championship. An employee in the Dadeville Office went beyond the call for a customer he noticed walking in to buy a microwave. After financing was approved and the deal was completed, the customer was unsure how she would get the large purchase to her apartment more than 1 mile away. The salesman agreed to drive his customer and help set up the new oven. Upon arrival he noticed the outlet she was using was inoperable, called maintenance to repair it and then plugged the old microwave into another outlet, which worked fine. "I lost a sale but made a customer very happy," the employee said. For the fourth consecutive year, Southeast/Farley APSO Chapter members volunteered for the Special Olympics at the Eufaula Community Center. About 30 APSO volunteers joined with others in the community to help special-needs children take part in track, basketball and the softball throwing competition. Children, kindergarten through grade 3, also got in on the action, taking part in the ring toss, Frisbee throw, running, beanbag toss and other fun activities. Malinda Golden, Phenix City, coordinates the local Special Olympics each year, which draws about 100 kids from surrounding communities. 56 Postcards to Powergrams Send us your photo holding Powergrams in an exotic locale.
