33 "I also want the opportunity to encourage females to pursue engineering." "Selina is a hardworking, conscientious employee who takes her role as a representative of Alabama Power Company very seriously," said Danny Glover, vice president of Distribution. "She is a giver, not a taker, and constantly gives back to her community as well as the University of Alabama. She was very deserving of this recognition but would be the first to thank the company for the opportunity to be involved with such a worthwhile effort." Lee brought her alumni activity to work recently, hosting a luncheon at Corporate Headquarters with Alabama Power and Southern Company UA engineering grads and College of Engineering administrators. "The University of Alabama's engineering program has accomplished exciting milestones over the past several years," Lee said. "Our enrollment is up, the academic status of the students is phenomenal, and new buildings and labs have been built over the last five years. "CES has grown and is doing more to engage fellow alumni. There is a sense of excitement at the university around engineering. I want all alumni to know what great things are happening in Tuscaloosa." But it's not all give. There is some take, as Lee uses her role as a CES board member to benefit her employer. "Recruitment of talent" is one perk Alabama Power gets from Lee's involvement, she said. Another: "Sharing the Alabama Power story with students and staying engaged with the engineering leadership to help make the University of Alabama one of the best engineering programs in the nation." While Lee proudly wears crimson and white during her board duties, she has occasion to wear orange and blue, having earned an Executive MBA from Auburn University in 2003. Top, Lee was honored by The University of Alabama.
