Find more energy efficiency tips at www.AlabamaPower.com/tips. CUSTOMER TIP POWER TIP Make sure your home's ductwork is properly sealed. Leaks in ductwork allow cool air to escape and can cause cooling bills to increase significantly. Seal leaks with mastic sealant or metal tape. Do not use duct tape, which is not long-lasting. Insulate ducts that are accessible in an attic, basement or crawlspace. Make sure duct connections at vents and registers are well-sealed where they meet the floors, walls and ceilings, because these are common locations for leaks.
