Customer Service Representative Karen Williams has worked for Alabama Power 25 years, the last 20 in the Leeds Office. She worked at Metro Central for two years and East Jefferson for three years before transferring to Leeds. "This was a whole different ballgame for me," Williams says of her move two decades ago. "Leeds is a sweet lile town. All of the churches, the community involvement … I just love it here." Williams grew up in Center Point, aending Erwin High School all 12 years of her primary education. She studied for two years at Jefferson State Community College before becoming a stay-at-home mom, then applying for a job at Alabama Power when the children went off to school. "I started when I was 3," she jokes. Beginning in 1998 with two years at the Customer Service Center, Jones worked a year in the Leeds Office and two years back at the CSC before returning to Leeds. A New Orleans native, she graduated from Boothville-Venice High School and Delgado Community College before moving with her husband, Nolan, to do ministry work in New York City and Virginia Beach, Virginia. They visited his sister in Birmingham in 1996 and liked what they saw. "I guess the main thing was that we were going to have a family but didn't want to raise our children in New Orleans," Jones says. "As a kid, I got tired of running from hurricanes." The Joneses live in Moody with their two children: Brooklyn, 8, and Skyla, 11. Merchandise Salesperson Wynea Moutry has worked at the Leeds Office for five years, and happily watched as the building was remodeled and expanded in 2015. "I was very lucky to land here," she says. "When I got here it was nowhere near the magnificent building you see now. And all three of the managers, Edna Felton, Chris Barnes and Antoinee, have been great. I've just been lucky." Moutry has been married to Antonio for 33 years and has three adult children: Aaron and Antonio Jr., who both work for Kamtek; and Joia Saunders, a University of Alabama graduate. Moutry earned a registered medical assistant degree but never worked in hospitals. She was an electronics department manager at Walmart for 12 years before joining Alabama Power. Sales in the Leeds Appliance Store have risen more than 40 percent above projections since Moutry arrived. "What sets us apart from Lowes and some of the other chain stores is our customer service," she says. "You can go online and buy stuff and never talk to a live person. At Alabama Power, we provide a personal touch and knowledge about our quality products." Moutry, Andrews, Jones and Madison in APC Office. 34
