to help, said former Corporate Energizers president Charles Allen. He said that Taylor is a "people person" who is motivated by working with others. For instance, Taylor took pleasure in serving senior citizens at a special event at the Trussville Civic Center. With Allen, Van Horne and other Energizers, Taylor worked with Magic City APSO members, including past president Nicole Hedrick, to provide lunches. "Seniors came in on buses," Taylor said. "We packed sack lunches with sandwiches, fruits and dessert. It was a lot of fun." Allen said Taylor adds fun to any event. "Glenda is a very positive person," said Allen, who was in the former Information Resources for 41 years and knew Taylor when she worked at the company. "She can never do enough for people and is always looking to do more. She's always willing to go the extra mile. Thank goodness for people like Glenda; she made my job easier as president of Corporate Energizers." Horne, 2018-2019 Corporate Energizers president, worked closely with Taylor in General Services. He said she has a servant's heart. "I've known Glenda for at least 30 years," Horne said. "She has always been someone who steps up and assumes responsibility, such as during storm restoration efforts." At the December awards meeting, each Corporate Energizer donated several cans of food to help the needy. Taylor packed the food in her car and delivered it to Jessie's Place, a nonprofit that serves homeless and abused women and their children in Birmingham. Taylor said she's pleased to be involved in fundraising for Project Lifesaver. She saw a longtime work friend deal with her husband's downward spiral into dementia, and Taylor has a close family member who has had some symptoms. She said that it's heartwarming to know that Energizers aids the organization that provides electronic tracking devices to families in need. "It's so gratifying to see the ENERGIZERS Taylor delivers food donated by the Energizers to Jessie's Place. 22
