Jones teaches fourth graders on
Wednesday nights and ushers at
Mass on Sundays.
With her retirement, Jones plans to
paint her home, catch up on her to-do
list and spend more time with her
85-year-old dad. But her first order of
business is to stop and take a much-
needed breather.
"I tell people I plan to stay in bed,
watch the Hallmark Channel and
read novels," she said smiling.
Aer 44 years at Alabama Power,
29 of them as an executive secretary,
Jones said her co-workers have
become part of her family.
"We are there for each other all day
long, so their family is my family,"
Jones said.
Jones' family members, Allcorn-Walker and many
co-workers helped send Jones into retirement.
