19 Folks are proud of former Greenville High School football star Za'Darius Smith, who played at the University of Kentucky before four years with the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL, which led this past season to a $66 million contract with the Green Bay Packers and a Pro Bowl selection. Recent Auburn star defensive end Marlon Davidson is expected to join fellow GHS alumnus Smith in the multimillion-dollar salary league during the NFL Dra April 23-25. Two years ago, President Donald Trump appointed Greenville native Terry Moorer to the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Alabama. Moorer, 59, is a former Alabama National Guard colonel and primary architect of the Alabama Code of Military Justice. Greenville native Janice Rogers Brown, 70, is a retired U.S. judge appointed by President George W. Bush. Former Auburn football standout and Greenville High School coach Alvin Briggs is associate executive director of the Alabama High School Athletic Association. the RTJ Trail and talked Greenville city officials into buying his idea of grabbing some of the golfers who were traveling through the state to get to courses in Florida. McLendon voted to support construction of Cambrian Ridge during his first term on the City Council – he's been mayor since 2000. "It's changed my life, totally changed the way I look at things," McLendon says. "Before Cambrian Ridge, Greenville didn't want to grow. We wanted to keep being Mayberry." AP C Office Customer Service Representative Pam Barganier started with Alabama Power in 1989 in the Fort Deposit Business Office, where she worked for 30 years. She is a member of the Alabama Power Service Organization and the Fort Deposit Arts Council, which sponsors the Calico Fort Arts and Crafts Fair each April. Barganier has two daughters and sons-in-law and two granddaughters. CSR Mary Huff has been with the company since 1990, beginning in the Fort Deposit Office. She became a shared employee with Greenville in 1995 as a Power Delivery clerk and accounting CSR. She did mostly administrative work until 2012, when she became a full-time cashier. Huff has been a Lifeliner since 1992 and an APSO member since the 1990s, serving several times as chapter chairman. She is exhibitor chairman of the Fort Deposit Arts Council, an active member of Bethel Baptist Church and helps in the Wednesday night soup kitchen started by Kim Vickery. Huff has been married to Van Huff for 13 years. She has two daughters: Amy Blackmon and Jessie Wilhite, and a grandson, Mitch. Sales Consultant Vickery joined the company in 2009 at the Greenville office. She has been an APSO member since 2009, serving as chapter chairman a few times. Vickery is on the exhibitor committee of the Fort Deposit Arts Council, and an active member of Bethel Baptist. She is actively involved in the Greenville and Fort Deposit communities. Vickery has been married to Lee Vickery for 33 years. They have three children: Adam (Korie) Vickery, Alexandra Vickery and Austin (Bailey) Vickery, and a grandson, Sullivan.
