Jeff Book Featured writer Birmingham-based writer Jeff Book's work has appeared in Smithsonian, the Los Angeles Times, Southern Living, Coastal Living, Elle Décor, Garden & Gun, Four Seasons, Travel & Leisure, Departures and many other publications. After years of living by the sea, he has embraced the beauty of Alabama's lakes and waterways. Shorelines Staff Bob Blalock, a senior communications strategist at Alabama Power, was an award-winning journalist in Alabama for more than three decades, mostly at The Birmingham News. He was named The News' first senior reporter, and as editorial page editor led a project that was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. Allison Westlake is a communications specialist at Alabama Power. She has served on the staffs of Coastal Living and Sandra Lee Semi-Homemade magazines, with work published in Celebrate magazine and Julep, an online publication.
