2 Employees, Retirees and Friends: Welcome to the centennial commemorative issue of Powergrams. We are pleased to share with you the 1,822nd issue of our company newsleer. When Tom Martin began serving as Alabama Power's president, one of his initial efforts was to establish Powergrams to share company news and explain "our problems, our hopes and purposes." From its inaugural issue, the publication has been a source of connection for employees and retirees across the state. Since that time, the Powergrams staff has recorded the history of Alabama Power, showcasing the company's development and highlighting its employees. Through writing, graphic design, photography, production, editorial and circulation management, numerous employees have contributed. Strong teamwork has been paramount to the publication's century of success. Through the years, we've developed additional ways to share company news, like AlabamaPower.com, Alabama NewsCenter, Powerlines and Shorelines. Social media has become a primary communication channel for the company and its employees. All the while, the mission of Powergrams has remained unchanged – sharing the good work of our employees, key company projects and community involvement. As we near yearend, I'm sure you'd agree that 2020 has truly been unprecedented. From the COVID-19 pandemic to the events of racial injustice in our country, this year has had an immense impact on our Alabama Power family and our communities. During these challenging times, our commitment to our customers has been unwavering. Our company has served the people of Alabama for more than 110 years, through wars, economic downturns and other crises. We will continue to do so because of the hard work and dedication of the men and women of Alabama Power. Your commitment to reliable operations, superior customer service and community focus will power our state forward for years to come. And Powergrams will continue to chronicle our efforts as we work together to elevate the state. I hope you enjoy this commemorative issue. Thank you for all you do for our company and the communities we are privileged to serve. Alabama Power CEO
