COMMUNICATIONS NewsCenter opens online to help customers, media NewsCenter is accessible at Alabamapower.com. A labama Power has unveiled its online NewsCenter, a feature on the company's external website designed to be the go-to place for stories, information and a variety of other resources. "The way news is delivered is changing, and so are the needs of the media and the public for obtaining information about our company," said John Hudson, vice president of Public Relations and Charitable Giving. "NewsCenter provides a unique platform for us to deliver content and information to the media, to our customers and to our stakeholders." NewsCenter is accessible through Alabama Power's Internet homepage or via http://news. alabamapower.com and is designed to work on smartphones and browsers. In addition to containing traditional news releases and company contact information, the site features topical stories about Alabama Power, along with videos, photos and audio clips. A detailed story archive is on the new online site, as well as an "In Focus" section with statements and positions on issues of interest to Alabama Power employees and customers. The NewsCenter includes current and previous issues of Powergrams, Shorelines, the Alabama Power Service Organization (APSO) Newsletter and Power Facts. Featured on the site periodically will be positive articles about Alabama, state tourism and economic development – stories that don't necessarily have a connection to the company but may interest people in search of good news about the state. "NewsCenter gives us a new and, we hope, engaging way to provide resources that journalists can use, as well as information for anyone interested in our company," Hudson said. PAGE 7
