Martin was in the first leadership development class and the first leadership rotation at Gulf Power. Martin is currently manager of the Alabama Power Atmore and Monroeville offices. "After first arriving in Atmore, everyone must have seen me coming because the first several years I was here, I was asked to serve or lead many organizations' board of directors, lead several community events and, just about every week, my picture was in the newspaper either presenting something or launching an initiative," Martin says. "The first week my picture was not in the paper, people in the community were contacting me to see if I was OK because they were so used to seeing my picture." Martin earned an associate degree in Management from Pensacola Junior College (now Pensacola State College) and a bachelor's degree in Marketing from the University of West Florida. He attended Pensacola Christian College and was a member of its inaugural basketball team. Martin is married to Shannon B. Martin, an elementary school teacher in Atmore. They have three children: Shannon R. Martin, 33; Ben Martin, 23; and Sam Martin, 20. They also have three dogs: Sox, a 13-year-old cockapoo; Scrappy, a 4-year-old rescue mountain feist; and Helen, a 1-year-old Great Dane, who is deaf. The Martins are members of the First Baptist Church of Atmore. He has been involved in many civic clubs and community organizations throughout his career. Autumn Silbernagel Brown taught elementary special needs students for three years in Escambia County and taught third grade for one year at Escambia Academy before hiring on with Alabama Power. "My sister-in-law, Christi Silbernagel, who also works for Alabama Power, called me and told me that a position was coming available with APC in Brewton and suggested I apply, so I did," Brown says. Brown was hired in September 2008 and worked in the Brewton Business Office until 2019 when she was transferred to the Atmore Office, where she is a senior Customer Service representative. A member of the Alabama Power Service Organization, Brown has enjoyed presenting Safe-T-Opolis programs as a Lifeliner since 2010. She was on the Safety Team for five years and was United Way team captain for the Brewton Office several years. She taught the Choices Program to eighth graders for 10 years while working in Brewton. Brown was on the Brewton Storm Duty Team after Hurricanes Sally and Zeta. "I am an active member of Liberty Baptist Church in Pineview," she says. "I helped teach pre-K through sixth grade Sunday School for several years before becoming a youth leader/teacher for six years. I have since passed the torch, at least for now." Brown grew up in Mobile and graduated from Mobile Christian High School. She graduated from Troy State University with a bachelor's degree in Education, K-6 and Collaborative. She has been married to Nathan Brown for 20 years and they have three children: Helene, a recent graduate of Flomaton High School who will attend Huntingdon College in the fall on a cheerleading scholarship; and twin 15-year-olds, Cyrus and Joseph, who attend Flomaton High School. The Browns have two dogs: Buck, a lab/pitbull mix; and Millie, a Doberdane. Merchandise Sales Consultant Pat Danley joined the company in 2012 in the Atmore Office. She has also worked in the Flomaton and Brewton Appliance Centers. She has been married to Chuck Danley for 36 years and they have two children: Josh and Jade, and two granddaughters, Brooklyn and Harper. "My most fulfilling task at hand is being 'Dandy' to my two granddaughters," she says. "I am a member of Bowles Assembly of God in Evergreen, where I serve as Praise and Worship Leader, pianist and Food Bank organizer." Danley has been an active APSO member for most of her time at Alabama Power. Projects she's been involved with include helping to build a house in Flomaton and remodel one in Atmore; helper for Super Fun Day for special-needs students in Escambia County schools; United Way team captain several times; and storm duty after Hurricanes Sally and Zeta. In 2019, the Atmore Advance presented Danley an award for being "Best of the Best" among local appliance store salespersons. "The thing I love the most about my job at Alabama Power is being able to help my customers," Danley says. "Many times, I have customers who may have some type of hardship, and helping them find a solution is very rewarding. Having a customer look at me and say, 'Thank you for your help,' is heartwarming. I love my co-workers and customers!" Customer Service Representative Jackie Lee has been employed with Alabama Power for 24 years. She and James have been married 32 years and have three children: Candice, 37, Jamea, 32, and Jamontrae', 22. They have six grandsons: Will Jr., Labarryon Jr., Brayden, Bryson, Brentyn and Wailyn, and a granddaughter, West'Lyn. She also has a "spoiled" blue-eyed pitbull named Rylo. Lee has been an active member of APSO for several years, been a United Way team leader and volunteered at Super Fun Day assisting Escambia Schools students. In 2017, she organized a drive to collect school uniforms and clothing for underprivileged children. "Jackie continues to organize uniform drives annually, as well as for backpacks and school supplies," says co-worker Brown. "Anytime she finds out there is a family in need, she immediately starts calling and gathering items to fill whatever the need might be. Jackie is one of the most compassionate and caring people I've ever met." Lee is a member of Destiny Worship Center in Atmore. "The people of Atmore love her dearly and know they can come to her for a listening ear, consoling words, help with personal situations, as well as many other things," adds Brown.
