Davis spoke about new and existing efforts regarding site development, renewable generation and economic development incentives. Murphy addressed how the company is leveraging innovation to attract tech- based companies and boost non-kWh initiatives. Davis also discussed the company's efforts to support electric vehicle infrastructure, while Murphy elaborated on strategies to bolster Alabama's workforce for the company, customers and the state. Powering the future Continuing to provide affordable, reliable power, while creating clean energy solutions Brandon Dillard, senior vice president and senior production officer, and Ashley Robinett, senior vice president of Shared Services, presented on behalf of the four Clean Energy sub- groups. They kicked off by illustrating the confusion among consumers in defining "clean energy." Clean energy is electricity generated from carbon-free fuel sources, including nuclear, hydro, wind and solar. These sources are renewable or do not emit carbon when generating electricity. Robinett shared data showing residential and commercial customers' increased interest in and willingness to pay more for power from clean energy sources. Dillard touched on the vast growth potential for clean energy and shared how the company's work in this area will lift workforce development opportunities, economic development and community partnerships. All the difference Fostering a culture of belonging where all employees are valued, respected and treated fairly Focused on the Alabama Power team, the Employee Engagement and Inclusion working groups developed a cohesive vision for the company's workforce. Senior Vice President and Comptroller Anita Allcorn-Walker and Eastern Division Vice President Terry Smiley announced the formation of a new Inclusion & Employee Engagement subcommittee within the Council on Culture and Inclusion, solidifying both as ongoing focuses for the company. Allcorn-Walker discussed the strength in connecting with teams at company events and through Alabama Power Service Organization projects. Smiley emphasized the business case and the "people case" for maintaining diverse teams and ensuring everyone feels open to share their ideas at work. Following the Business Forum, a Top 10 Priorities Action Summary was distributed to all employees, outlining the efforts across the company in support of the priorities and encouraging employees to find opportunities to engage and contribute.
