Expert panel members sharing their experiences included Chris Nanni, president and CEO of the Community Foundation of Greater Birmingham; Shannon Ammons, CEO of the Alabama Association of Nonprofits; and Jeanne Jackson, president and CEO of the Women's Fund of Greater Birmingham. Hallie Bradley, Alabama Power Community Initiatives manager, moderated the discussion. "I struggled with the concept of collabora- tion," Nanni said, adding it cannot be forced and must develop naturally. Collaboration requires time and genuine re- lationships between organizations. Ammons said lack of leadership and power struggles are pitfalls. Jackson said collaborations can create issues when nonprofits lose sight of their missions. Bradley asked the panelists to share the benefits of collaboration. Jackson used her work experience as a positive example.
