Quentin Riggins has left his post as vice president of Governmental Relations and is now senior vice president responsible for Governmental and Corporate Affairs. Ashley Robinett, former area manager for Birmingham Division, is now vice president with responsibility for Corporate Real Estate. "These individuals bring extraordinary expertise and insight to our leadership team," Crosswhite said. "This new organizational structure, combined with our recent leadership changes, puts Alabama Power in a strong position to meet our ongoing responsibilities to customers and stakeholders. It also prepares us to tackle new challenges." Crosswhite said top priorities continue to be safety, customer service and meeting customer needs. He said the leadership changes support the company as it increases its focus on innovation in a rapidly changing industry and marketplace. NEW LEADERS MOVE IN Borden represented clients, including Alabama Power, in environmental and natural resources issues, and state governmental relations during her career at Balch & Bingham. She joined the firm after earning her Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama. She earned her bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Borden has published more than a dozen articles on environmental law and is a member of the American Bar Association, the Alabama State Bar and the Montgomery Bar Association. She and her husband, Gray, a U.S. magistrate judge for the Middle District of Alabama, have two sons. Calhoun's role at the BBA included responsibility for all legal matters and public policy initiatives. She headed teams that focused on issues such as regional revitalization, workforce development, education and young professional engagement. Prior to the BBA, Calhoun served as legal counsel for United States Pipe and Foundry Company LLC. There she was directly involved in negotiations that led to construction of the company's Marvel City Mini- Mill in Bessemer, the first ductile iron pipe facility built in the United States in more than 60 years. Before joining U.S. Pipe, Calhoun was associated with Spain & Gillon LLC, where her practice focused on urban renewal and revitalization, municipal finance and governmental affairs. Calhoun is a graduate of Spelman College in Atlanta and the University of Alabama School of Law. She has two daughters. Comensky joined Southern Company in 1984. She has held leadership positions at Alabama Power and Southern Company Services in business development, commercial and industrial marketing, wholesale contracting and strategy development. She previously was director of Gas Services and director of Coal Services for Southern Company and in 2011 became vice president of External and Regulatory Affairs for Southern Power. She also was Southern Power's compliance officer. Comensky has a bachelor's degree in business from the University of Alabama and a master's degree in business administration from Samford University. She and her husband, Frank, have two daughters. Cooper has broad communications experience as an on-air reporter, television producer, media buyer and media strategist. She joined Georgia Power in 2007 as a senior staff attorney with responsibility for real estate. She also was assistant to the vice president of Environmental Affairs. Prior to joining the company, she was assistant district attorney and public information officer for the DeKalb County, Ga., district attorney's office. She was a public information officer for the Georgia secretary of state, and deputy press secretary for the governor of Georgia. As director of Corporate Communications at Southern Company, Cooper managed content development and communications strategy and oversaw media relations, executive, shareholder, employee and crisis communications. In 2015, she returned to Georgia Power as a senior attorney working on regulatory matters, including the merger of Southern Company and AGL Resources. Cooper graduated with a degree in journalism from the University of Georgia. She received her Juris Doctor from Georgia State University.
