His work has taken him across the country, from shooting the annual Easter Egg Roll at the White House to Graceland interiors at Christmas and the ultimate crab cakes in the Chesapeake Bay area. He lives in Birmingham with his wife and two daughters. k ariM shaMsi-Basha Contributing photographer Karim Shamsi-Basha has been a photographer for 25 years, with work published in National Geographic Traveler, Sports Illustrated, People, Time, Southern Living, B-Metro and Coastal Living. He also has published three coffee table books. The latest, "Home Sweet Home Alabama," features beautiful sites and people of the state. He has been to more than 30 countries, but his favorite place is right here in Alabama. Marvin GilMore Contributing photographer Marvin Gilmore is a freelance photographer who resides in Alabaster and enjoys spending time in the outdoors. Gilmore served as a corporate photographer for 30 years of his 46-year tenure at Alabama Power. His most memorable photographs as a corporate photographer were of the tornadoes, hurricanes and other events and the restorations that followed. An outdoors enthusiast, Gilmore enjoys visiting national parks, fishing, boating and landscape photography. carol anne roBerts Contributing writer Carolanne Roberts is a Birmingham journalist whose experience ranges from newspapers and public relations to a 26-year career at Southern Living, where she served as travel editor, features editor and special regional sections editor along the way.
