But Foreman Robert Hollis and his
Gardendale line crew stepped to the plate.
"I got a call at 15 minutes to 5 on a Thursday
aernoon, and they said they wanted it done by
Saturday," Hollis said, recalling there was a 100
percent forecast of rain that Friday.
Hollis and his crew scrambled to the job
within two hours on Thursday. They completed
the energized work before dark, then resumed
the "non-hot" work during Friday's rains and
finished the job Saturday.
"Alabama Power was able to expedite this
process, and we were able to make our first trial
deliveries on time," Zimmerman said. "Without
Alabama Power's assistance, this would not
have been possible."
Hollis said he expected nothing less from his
crew.
"For this bunch, it doesn't maer," particularly
when it's for a customer like Kamtek that
means so much to the community, Hollis said.
"Because our guys live where they work, they
feel a part of the community and do what they
need to do to help their neighbors. They take
their job seriously."
