ENVIRONMENT
Alabama Power has earned national
acclaim through employee efforts to
enhance company environmental sampling
programs that help protect Alabama
waterways.
The Water Field Services and Compliance
Studies groups within Environmental
Affairs perform monitoring and studies
in and around all of Alabama Power's
generating facilities to ensure the company
is protecting waterways and meeting all
environmental regulations. Both groups
have been accredited as Field Sampling and
Measurement Organizations (FSMO) by
the American Association for Laboratory
Accreditation (A2LA certificate number
4117.01).
Alabama Power has the distinction of
being the first electric utility to earn FSMO
accreditation.
