Snead, 46, is the general manager of the Los Angeles Rams, after serving in various front office roles for the Jacksonville Jaguars and Atlanta Falcons. Snead, the son of Eufaula Heritage Association director Pam, is entering his sixth season directing the football future of the Rams. It's almost a certainty Eufaula football this year will surpass 600 total wins since the program began in 1921. The Tigers are second in the state in winning seasons at 77 and have the second fewest total losing seasons at 17. And the college tradition continues in 2017 with former Tiger Siran Neal's senior season at Jacksonville State, where the all- conference safety hopes to get another shot at an FCS national championship. "There's just been a winning culture here as long as folks can remember," says Hawkins. "Kids buy in every year and the expectation is we're going to win, and the scoreboard should reflect that at the end of the night." APC employees play major roles in their community Eufaula is by far the smallest city that is home to one of Alabama Power's six division offices. The Southeast Division, led by Vice President Ken Novak, employs 279 workers and is headquartered in a three-story building next to the Eufaula Business Office, where former manager Frank Straughn retired in July after 52 years with the company. The Southeast Division office has 23 employees, sharing the lower floors of its facility with city of Eufaula offices. The Eufaula Crew Headquarters and Garage has 41 employees, the business office has 22 employees and there are six workers at the Union Street Crew HQ, for a combined local APC work force of 92 employees. Customer Service Supervisor Lyndee Williams now leads the Eufaula Business Office staff that greets local folks each day who come into pay their bills, seek new services and advice or purchase appliances. Williams has been with Alabama Power nine years and began her new job July 10, moving from division accounting after previous experience in the Phenix City Office. Her husband, Power Delivery Lineman Josh Williams, has been with the company for 10 years. "Everyone here is very friendly," Williams says. "I enjoy the atmosphere. Everyone says it's the best place to fish. The historic district is just beautiful. It's everything you've heard." Customer Service Representative Laura Taylor is from Eufaula and has worked for Alabama Power 28 years, 23 of those years alongside Straughn. Fellow CSR Chloe Bagwell has lived in Eufaula most of her life and has worked for APC 10 years. She says Lake Eufaula "is the key to this town." Merchandise Salesman Beau Simpkins has worked in his hometown office for five years. His father, George Simpkins, retired as the division Marketing manager after 35 years with APC. CSR Lindsey Farrar has been with Alabama Power for three years after transferring from Georgia Power. She works in Eufaula when the Clayton Office is closed on Thursdays. "There is a culture shock when you move from Atlanta," says Farrar, whose family has worked for GPC for three generations. "But everyone here really is very friendly."
