"It's been years in the making and we are glad to be able to offer this to the city of Gadsden," says Jen Weathington, director for Parks and Recreation for the city of Gadsden. "ere were a lot of people who came together to make this a reality." e project includes nearly one mile of walking paths with riverfront access, a pedestrian bridge, three scenic pavilions and a concrete plaza under the Broad Street Memorial Bridge that serves as a gathering place for local concerts and events. "We hoped this project would be something the community would get excited about and I am really glad to see our residents and visitors utilize such great public trails and piers along the Coosa River."
