When Jim Simpson was approached by a Gadsden couple about their hopes of building a custom home along the shore of the Coosa River, he knew it was an opportunity he couldn't pass up. Simpson, owner of Simpson Construction, takes pride in the skillful crasmanship of the homes he builds. His ability to create a unique masterpiece matched perfectly with the prestigious view homeowners are accustomed to in the Whorton Bend community of Neely Henry Lake. Working with a designer and architect based in Arkansas, Simpson prepared for countless hours to be spent working on the nearly 10,000-square-foot, eight- bedroom, seven-bath home. Each room, magnificently detailed with features such as herringbone-patterned wood floors, hand-craed ceiling beams and gorgeous vintage-inspired barn doors, is a Pinterest lover's dream. Wood from an Amish tobacco barn in Pennsylvania covers the impressive home's floors, which adds to the distinctiveness of the overall design. One of the beautiful fireplace mantles in the home was delivered from France, shining light on the stories behind the details in the home. Simpson hand-craed moldings throughout the home and ensured each masterpiece he created worked in flow with the design plan. Exquise, and energy efficient It's the magnificent details that matter in this custom home on Neely Henry Lake. By Jacki Lowry 19 www.apcshorelines.com
