More than 90 percent of theft cases investigated ended with the thief repaying the company to avoid prosecution. • Alabama Power Environmental Affairs employees joined hands with state and federal agencies to study two federally listed snail species at Lay Lake. During four days along the shoreline, populations of the tulotoma snail and the rough hornsnail were surveyed to create conditions under which the snails may thrive. • Printing and Document Services employees completed 62 years of safe work, continuing a tradition of veteran workers taking new employees under their wings for a six-month safety apprentice program. Photo by Jamie Martin NOVEMBER DECEMBER • Plant Barry employees ran in the first Mark Mooneyham Memorial Support Our Troops 5K, raising about $1,500 in memory of the employee who died May 25. • Eastern Division employees took part in Lego Mindstorm robotics programs in Jacksonville City Schools and Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology classes at several schools. Students fared well in various state competitions, supported and funded through Eastern Division and the Alabama Power Foundation. • Southeast Storeroom Operations employees completed 20 years without a preventable vehicle accident. The 10-member crew is on the road almost every day, driving between company warehouses in Ozark, Eufaula, Phenix City, Enterprise, Headland and Valley. Above: Gov.
