For over 50 years, Alabama Power's rates have been below
the national average, but there are still some easy things you
can do around your home to save money and energy
Ceiling fans with
a reverse switch
are an affordable
addition to any
room to help
make your home
more efficient
year-round.
Check your fans
to make sure they
are rotating in the
correct direction.
Counter-clockwise
for summer, and
clockwise for
winter.
When the mercury
spikes, a counter-
clockwise direction
circulates air
around the room
making it feel up
to 3 to 4 degrees
cooler.
When the
temperature cools
in the fall, switch
to a clockwise
direction to help
pull warm air from
the ceiling down
into the room.
