1 loaf French bread
1 quart milk
3 eggs
1 ½ cups sugar
2 T vanilla
½ cup raisins
3 T butter, melted
½ can apples, drained
Cinnamon, to taste
Bread Pudding
Preheat oven to 350. For pudding, break bread into small pieces. Pour milk
in small bowl and soak bread. Sprinkle apples heavily with cinnamon, stir
and then add to bread mixture. Mix together eggs, sugar, vanilla, butter
and raisins, add to bread mixture and stir. Pour mixture into greased 9x13
pan and bake for 45 minutes or until very firm. Serve with sauce.
For sauce, combine sugar and butter in double boiler and cook until well
dissolved. Add well-beaten egg mix with electric hand mixer. Cook until
thickened.
