9 S ome folks in the Southern Division Energizers call Roy Hale the "money man." Hale takes pride in serving as chief billpayer and dues taker for his Energizers chapter, making sure that their lunches are covered for bimonthly meetings in Montgomery. Southern Energizers President Marvin Salter said Hale's handling of the small things adds up to big results for their chapter. "Roy Hale is a very responsible person," said Salter, who joined Energizers when he retired four years ago. "He always takes care of business. Roy is Johnny- on-the-spot with the finance reports. He's a cool person." Serving as treasurer for four years, Hale ensures that the "i's are doed and t's crossed" for chapter accounts, with Southern Energizers awarding $30,600 to community organizations since 2014. In November, members vote on the charities that will receive donations during the chapter's year-end meeting. "It's important to give back to the communities we live in," said Hale, who retired seven years ago from the Greenville Office. "Almost all of the groups we support are local charities. I feel it's kind of a way to support families in my area." The ongoing charitable gis from Southern Division Energizers means the world to Child Protect in Montgomery, said Executive Director Jannah Bailey.
