60 Each year, the Alabama Power Foundation partners with the Alabama Department of Children's Affairs to support new First Class Pre-K classrooms by providing classroom material grants of $10,000. These grants help furnish and provide essential materials for a positive learning environment. Pre-K Classroom Grants Total for 35 Pre-K Classroom grants provided since 2014 $350,000 The Alabama Power Foundation partners annually with 11 other funders in Alabama through Summer Adventures in Learning (SAIL). SAIL supports summer learning programs in which students can explore new interests and skills while also gaining the support they need to prevent summer learning loss. In 2016, the SAIL partnership awarded 37 grants to summer learning programs hosted by schools and nonprofits across Alabama. The Alabama Power Foundation directly supported five of those programs and partnered with other funders to provide STAR testing for all SAIL grantees.
