19 forward to representing her country on Team USA this summer. Denis Waldrop, a recreation development assistant in Shoreline Management, got to know the road to Auburn well, too. She now works in human resources. "You've got to go. Like the other employees, Waldrop coached his daughter. Sydne played for Springville High School and travel teams around Birmingham. "I guess it was about age 9 when I just turned the reins over to other coaches and just watched her play ball," Waldrop said. The Waldrops also traveled the country watching and playing softball. Synde played in two College Softball World Series. Auburn finished runner-up in 2016 behind Oklahoma. "It was cool because when she was a young girl we had gone to Oklahoma to watch Alabama play. I just jokingly told her one day you will play here," Waldrop said. "So, when it all came true, it was kind of cool to be there and to see it all come full circle."
